One person was shot and two people were taken into custody after an altercation at the Bennett Event Center Saturday night at the Oklahoma State Fair.
Police said the shooting happened shortly before 9 p.m. following an incident at the event center on the east side of the fairgrounds in Oklahoma City. They learned two groups got into an altercation, during which a person pulled out a gun and shot someone.
The victim was taken to an area hospital in critical condition. Police said a few other people were reportedly injured amid the chaos. The nature of their injuries was not released.
A person fired a shot in the air in a separate incident, police said.
Two people were taken into custody, and police are working to determine their involvement.
The investigation is in its early stages. Police are looking at videos, searching the area for evidence and talking to witnesses.
Scott Munz, with the Oklahoma State Fair, said the fair will be open Sunday – the final day of the fair.
