In Magnitogorsk, a unsettling incident unfolded when a bloodied young man brandishing a knife attempted to hijack a taxi and later confronted passing vehicles. The alarming scene, recorded from a dashcam at an intersection, details the man’s erratic behavior.
The bizarre event took place on Zeleny Log Street last night. Local resident Gleb Demikhov recounted that he and a colleague, Tagir, were returning from work around 11 p.m. when they heard screams. They spotted a barefoot, bloodied individual running frantically in the street, prompting them to alert other pedestrians and drivers while calling the police.
At that moment, the troubled man forcibly entered a taxi that was slowing down. Video footage shows the chaos that ensued.
“As soon as the man entered, the female passenger immediately jumped out in fear due to the knife,” Gleb recounted. “Tagir responded by using pepper spray inside the cab, and the driver quickly exited the vehicle. The assailant then moved to the driver’s seat and tried to drive off, but he couldn’t manage it because the vehicle had a manual transmission.”
The footage captures the man running into the street, shouting incoherently, “I love you, I’m sorry,” before collapsing. Eyewitnesses noted that his speech seemed unusual, possibly indicating he was under the influence of drugs.
The situation escalated when the man leaped onto the hood of a passing car, only to be thrown off by the startled driver. Fortunately, the police arrived shortly after.
“When the police got there, we assisted in restraining the individual and taking him into custody,” Gleb added.
According to the city police, they received reports about a man wielding what appeared to be a knife around 10:15 p.m. Patrol officers were quickly dispatched to locate him. They apprehended the suspect, born in 1993, and transported him to the police station for further investigation.
