A Highway Patrol trooper was involved in a crash on I-40 near Cimarron Road, leading to traffic delays and hospitalizations.
The incident occurred on Thursday, January 18th, 2024. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the trooper had conducted a traffic stop when another vehicle collided with the driver’s side of the stopped car, while the trooper was on the passenger side. Both the trooper and two others were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.
As a result of the crash, the eastbound I-40 off-ramp to Cimarron Road was temporarily closed, and lanes were narrowed, as reported by the Oklahoma Department of Transportation. However, all lanes and the ramp have since reopened.
